MAGNET MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY INFORMATION
Safety Warning
Always Keep This Notice With Magnets

These magnets are designed to clamp to steel surfaces 400 to 600Kgs (pairs)!

Never place hands or feet between the magnet and a steel surface.
When brought to within 80 to 100mm (3 to 4 inches) to a steel surface, the two come together with great speed and force and may result in serious personal injury.

1. Be sure that you know how to attach the remove the magnet before using! When putting the magnet in place, always have the discharge handle at right angles to the magnet. In this way, the magnet can be positioned and then handle lowered to allow controlled full magnet face contact with the steel surface.
2. To remove the magnet, raise the discharge handle to the right angle position, and lift the magnet clear of the steel surface.
3. When transporting the magnet from place to place, care must be taken to keep the magnet face away from steel surfaces, piping etc.
4. Do not place magnet in close proximity to computer, bank cards, magnetic navigation equipment or anything which may have a magnetic strip, or it will be wiped!
5. If you have a heart pacemaker or similar medical device, do not place the magnet in close proximity to your chest.

General Information

Clamping force of these magnet is approx. 800Kgs.
The neodymium rare earth magnet used will only lose 1/2 to 1% of its strength in 100 years, with normal usage. The epoxy resin covering the magnet is to protect the surface coating of the element, which can otherwise deteriorate with exposure, especially in a corrosive environment, such as marine condition. The steel cups from part of the magnet circuit on these units, are plated for added protection from environment factors.

Maintenance is minimal

1. Visually inspect magnet working faces, and remove any lose ferrous material which may have collected on the face during usage.
2. Clearing can be carried out by simply wiping a steel wire brush across the face of the magnets, the wire points become highly induced, and the swarf will be attracted to the brush.
3. Make sure discharge handle is moving freely, oil the pivot points as required.
4. Always return the magnets to the maker's boxes and store the boxes safely in
